UK Canine Gateway Part 1

Duration: 2 days

Date: 15th & 16th May 2020

Pre-requisite: No prior knowledge required, just bring a notepad and pen!

Refreshments are available throughout both days at the coffee shop and dining room.

Food: The coffee shop, which is open all day sells sandwiches, snacks and a wide selection of drinks. At the dining room there is an option for hot meals.


Day 1  9.30 - 5pm

Understand the mechanisms that underpin self-medication

Learn to communicate through the language of smell to help animal health

Learn how to read responses

Learn how smell and taste are used to achieve homeostasis

Understand the different routes of administration

Learn how plant extracts can effect physical and psychological function

Understand the origins of many behavioural problems 

Understand why some dogs may poison themselves

Understand purging

Lunch 12 - 1pm

Demonstration working with dog 1

How an animal determines dosage

How to create a therapeutic environment

3pm break

Day 2  9.00 - 4.30pm

Review of day 1 

Follow through working with dogs form day 1

Lunch 12.30 - 1.30 pm

Understand  how to work with common health problems

Understand how to work with behavioural problems that have a trigger response

The new venue is close to Cirencester town and also provides more facilities (there is the possibility of accommodation on site). If you are flying in to Heathrow, or travelling from London, there is a National Express coach direct to Cirencester, or there is a train from Paddington, London to Kemble Station, then a short 10 minute taxi ride. If you are staying on for the Canine Gateway Part 2, you can reach the venue in Leighterton by a 25 minute taxi ride from Cirencester.
