UK Equine Gateway Part 1

Please bring appropriate clothing for a stable yard and a packed lunch. Refreshments are available throughout both days. Please brink a packed lunch.
Pre-requisite: No prior knowledge required, just bring a notepad and pen!
Learning objectives for workshop:
Day 1: 9.30am - 5pm
Understand the mechanisms that under pin self-medication
Learn how to read responses
Learn how smell and taste are used to achieve homeostasis to restore and regain health
Understand the different routes of administration
Understand how to apply the remedies topically
Learn how plant extracts can affect physical and psychological function
Understand the origins of many equine behavioural problems
Understand why some horses may poison themselves on ragwort or tannins

Demonstration working with Horse 1
How a horse determines dosage and communicates route of application
3pm break
3.20 Demonstration working with Horse 2
Understand which remedies to leave for the horse to continue working with in water buckets
5pm Finish
Day 2: 9.00am - 4.30pm
Review of day 1
Follow through working with horses form day 1
Lunch 1pm - 2pm
Understand how to work with common equine problems such as laminitis, colic, hormonal flux, wounds, respiratory, infection gut support and much more
